Become a Member

Membership with the Nashville VOAD identifies your organization as an integral partner of the community supporting our work in response to disaster and helping with our communities’ recovery efforts.  

Membership Types

Full Member

Organizations, which meet all of the following criteria, are eligible for Full Membership in the Nashville VOAD:

  • Organizations with voluntary memberships and constituencies, which are not for-profit, that is those qualified under the IRS Code as 501(c) (3).
  • Organizations must have a disaster response program and policy for commitment of resources to meet the needs of people affected by disaster without discrimination.
Expectations
  • Keep paperwork and contact information up-to-date.
  • Attend general VOAD meetings on a regular basis.
  • Participate in committee work and annual training exercise.
  • Utilize Charity Tracker to coordinate services to survivors in disaster.*
Benefits
  • Voting rights (1 per organization)
  • Logo on Nashville VOAD website
  • Invitations to general meetings, access to meeting notes, and inclusion on the email distribution list.
  • Access to Charity Tracker client database to coordinate services in disaster.*

Affiliate Member

Affiliate membership may be granted to organizations with disaster planning and operations responsibilities or capabilities that do not meet all the criteria for Full Membership. However, the organization must have a disaster response program and policy for commitment of resources to meet the needs of people affected by disaster without discrimination.

Expectations
  • Keep paperwork and contact information up-to-date.
  • Participation in annual training exercise.
  • Attend meetings and participate in committees as time and resources allow.
  • Utilize Charity Tracker to coordinate services to survivors in disaster.*
Benefits
  • Voting rights (1 per organization)
  • Logo on Nashville VOAD website
  • Invitations to general meetings, access to meeting notes, and inclusion on the email distribution list.
  • Access to Charity Tracker client database to coordinate services in disaster.*

Private Liaison (non-voting)

Open to Private Sector entities that bring resources to the VOAD movement, demonstrate a commitment to support the VOAD mission. Additional specific criteria for each category of Membership and Partnership may be defined from time to time by the Board of Directors.

Government Liaison (non-voting)

Government liaison membership may be offered to state and local government agencies and/or organizations.

Expectations
  • Keep paperwork and contact information up-to-date.
  • Lend expertise to committees or meetings
  • Attend trainings
  • Provide resources in disaster

* - Charity Tracker is for agencies and organizations that provide resources or services to survivors on an individual or household basis in the aftermath of disaster. Members that do not fall into that category will not have access to or be expected to use Charity Tracker.
